Seed to Skin has been featured in the Evening Standard Online, in an article entitled ‘Best niche beauty brands: these under-the-radar beauty heroes are worth seeking out’. The article reads, “With ingredients cultivated on a 220 acre organic farm in Tuscany, you know Seed to Skin means business. One of the most exciting luxury skincare brands to launch this year, the quality of each product cannot be overstated – they are simply divine. Gorgeously packaged in thick dark green glass with engraved metal closures, every detail has been given a lux treatment. However, it’s what’s on the inside of these weighty beauty bottles that’s really worth noting. Sourcing nutrient-rich materials from their own Borgo Santo Pietro organic farm, the level of quality control is an unmistakeable achievement and a rarity in the beauty industry. Dehydrated or mature skin will especially love The Cure moisturiser formulated with thermal and marine plankton, it’s an enveloping dew of the highest order and the best luxury moisturiser we have tried in years.”
In August 2018, The Cure was featured in Gentleman’s Journal, in the Editors Picks. The article read, “Every product by Seed To Skin was created in Borgo Santo Pietro, a restored 13th century villa-come-five-star boutique retreat, farm and culinary school in Tuscany. The Cure is the mother of all moisturisers, with thermal and marine plankton coming together to help wipe those 10 past years of late-night partying off your face once and for all.”
In August 2018 The Retreat was featured in woman&home online, in an article entitled ‘6 bedtime beauty rituals that will transform your skin and hair while you sleep’. The article read, “Diet bores might tell you to avoid oil and salt – but when it comes to your bathing routine, you should run straight into their arms. Add a handful of the right kind of salt to your bath water to stimulate circulation, flush out toxins and promote hydration. Brand new and just about the most beautiful bath salts I’ve ever tried is Seed To Skin Retreat Marine Algae Mineral Bath Salt, made in Tuscan retreat Borgo Santo Pietro with raw Sicilian sea salt.”
In August 2018, Conde Nast Brides included our signature facial, The Ritual at Seed To Skin at Liberty, in an article entitled “Tried & Tested: The Best Facials For Brides-To-Be”. The article read, “Prepare to feel meltingly relaxed and ‘just-had-a-spa-break’ radiant, because this deeply nourishing, hour-long facial (exclusive to Liberty and the five-star Tuscan retreat Borgo Santo Pietro) is the business. Combining luxe, plant-based skincare goodies – nutrient-rich serum-spray mist, detoxifying gel cleanse, exfoliating glow treatment, moisturising complex and calming clay mask – with blissful massage on your cheeks, jawline, forehead and around the eyes (plus your choice of a leg-and-foot or hand-and-arm massage – HEAVEN), it’s a hypnotically soothing experience that will leave your mind and body feeling deliciously snoozy… and your skin looking bright, refreshed and ready to glow! (Brides’ tester’s skin got all the compliments, BTW!)”.
In August 2018 Seed to Skin was featured in Country Life, in a Luxury News feature. The article reads as follows: “Borgo Santo Pietro, a boutique hotel deep in the Tuscan countryside 35 minutes south of Siena, was an abandoned 13th-century hamlet before it was transformed by Danish husband and wife Claus and Jeanette Thottrup. It was once a healing retreat for pilgrims on the spice route, so it’s fitting that the couple has developed Seed to Skin, natural skincare made from estate produce. After four years’ scientific research, the Thottrups have developed an advanced molecular delivery system that targets different layers of the skin with vitamins and minerals – and it smells divine too.“
In August 2018, The Devotion has been included in Hello!, in the ‘What to wear’ section of ‘Star Escapes’ page. The article also featured a review of Borgo Santo Pietro, our 5 star hotel in the Tuscan countryside.

We can testify it smells exactly like that – a bouquet of jasmine, neroli and damask to melt away the stress of the day.”
